EXS 91 Acoustic Guitars - ACE!

Post by IAA »

Just needed to say I've been doing some sampling myself (so appreciate the work involved!), but these guitars are absolutely ace. The dynamic control is very very good - lovely programming and lots of further potential to incorporate in my own combis.

Sharp well done - must have taken bloody ages!!

Thank you.
Yes, it's quite time consuming to sample but I'm lucky enough that were my Studio is located in Ireland, we have total silence around us.

Its funny how your own heart beat causes problems when sampling. I found that my fingers pressing down a string on a fret was unsuitable as my heart beat causes my pulse to beat, and that causes the tiniest moment in your finger joints which the Mic's can pick up easily because of the level they are running at to capture such long natural decays in a pure silent room.

We had to devise a way to solve that problem. We also had to come with a way to dampen and mute the other stings on a guitar when sampling. Plucking one string actually causes the others to resonate, which causes other problems.

Have the right amount of food in your tummy helps too. It's not wise to sample on an empty tummy as you pick the strangest of noises.

Regards
James.

Great library

Post by Banquet »

It's a great library, Sharp. Really authentic, punchy sounding accoustic guitars that should work brilliantly solo or in a mix.

Having recently bought the Karo strings and your kronos assault, I thought I would probably have to wait for a while before buying this, but it was a great decision, I think, to sell the package with fewer programs (64) for a more affordable price. As soon as I saw the price I knew I would be getting it straight away!

Dan posted a very detailed example of how to install EXs Libraries.

If you have any further problems, please let me know.

Kind regards
Sharp.

I even downloaded again to be sure (extract again, first in hdd - transferred by ftp to ssd or by usb to ssd, etc).... same result. I have other 3 EXs's installed (got my K almost 2 years ago), so the install guide bring nothing new.

Hi sorinv.

That's all wrong though.

Please click on the link I gave you and read what it says. You must **NOT** copy the data you extracted to the SSD. You must run the install direct off the memory stick.

Kind regards
Sharp

My bad! That did the trick... Since I upgraded the ssd and transferred sounds only by ftp and Akai's libraries through cd-usb, I forgot about the sticks (and how I installed other EXs's)... Thanks again :)

Amazing work. I know what it takes to make a realistic sound library.

Did you include Nylon Guitar?
