Key signature.
Hi anyone know how to set a key signature for a midi file in PA3X? From the manual it says that it must be in the first measuring. But how to do it?
Right now it showing all as playing in C Major. If I like a singnature as for instance E Major with 3 cross how to get that?

Hi Pete.
Fantastic! Thank you for your help. Although I am engineer and used to reading manuals so I thought just PA3x manual does not explain it so obvious. I could not make comparisons to Cubase.
I can see in the SMF file, the value 89 during data 1 means G major and coming indeed a cross displayed on PA3x.
Maybe I should study the standard of SMF.
You have a good understanding of PA3x. Maybe you can also tell me if I can write lyric directly into a SMF påPA3x?
Best
Claus

Not on board PA3X - you would have to do this on an external sequencer.Maybe you can also tell me if I can write lyric directly into a SMF påPA3x?

As Pete said you do need an external program to add lyrics that follow along with the midi like karaoke. However if you just want a page of lyrics to appear you can simply make a text file on your computer (Right click desktop, New Text Document in Windows) and call the file the same name as your midi file and the words will appear on your screen. If you are using Songbook you may need to link the text file using Book Edit 3, browse, Write.
If you do this it is a good idea to assign Text Page Down to Assignable Switch 3.
Best,
John

I use GNMIDI. With it you can paste a text file of lyrics and it will have a reasonable attempt to match the lyrics with a track. As you start editing mistakes it guesses ahead with the same words/syllables so usually takes me around 15 minutes to have it fully corrected.
Its a freeware program but you do need to register at a once off cost of $25 Euros for all features. The program will also guess chords which you can add to the Lyrics if desired. I think its worth every cent (euro) - my favorite program.

Yes I agree in that GNMIDI is an excellent program. I used it for approx. 10 years ago and of course it's been even better since then. I just downloaded a trial version and tried to convert a karaoke file to a midi file. It works but how can it be that I cannot get the chords in the display along with the music and lyrics? If I play a style and converts it to a midi so I get all the chords with nodes when midi played.
easy
yes gnmidi I have and it work great but there is a program it cost $10, and for putting words in a midi file ,, I fine it is faster and then you can edit it more if you like later , the program is call .. Serenade ,, the web site is
