Selecting a timbre in the Radias with a midi controller

Post by EZB »

Hello all

I am a very proud owner of the Korg Radias R and I want to create a midi controller template for the Korg Radias. There is one big problem that I am trying to solve and that is the selection of a Timbre for editing.

For example this is visible on the Radias LCD (@ respresents that edit selection symbol, T1 is timbre 1 etc)

@>T1
T2
T3
T4

Say I select timbre 2 the situation becomes the following

@ T1
>T2
T3
T4

Now I can edit T2.

Looking in the midi spec and trying the messages can't get my timbre selected (meaning the > doesn't move to T2 and the timbre 2 button doesn't light up)

The specs midi specs offer 2 possibilities.

There is a Timb1 - Timb4 select and there is a Timb1-Timb4 panel select. I have tried all those messages but they don't work. Can anyone shed a light on this? Do I need to do something extra?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I don't think it is possible to change the timbre for editing using an external controller.

I did not find back those 2 possibilities in the midi implementation chart.
What I see there and what I think you refer to, is a way to copy the settings of a particular timbre of a particular program in the current selected timbre of the current program. Which is not quite what you want... :(

Bye.
