How do you save a combi modified in the Sequencer?

Post by 2020digging »

I brought in a combi to use in the sequencer and made mods as I went along and now, apart from saving it lock stock and barrel on my SD card I can't for the life of me figure out how to save the combi on it's own!
Anyone? :?

It's easy to get a combi into the sequencer as you probably know. However, there is no way to save a song back into a combi. You will have to go back to the original combi and manually redo all of the parameter changes that you made. Otherwise, you have to save the sequencer data to the SD card.

It's like that on all Korg boards. It would have been a nice feature to have as I am always running into that same situation.

Thanks. Maybe OS 1.04?

Not likely considering they have not done it for any other synth. But I did forget to mention a method that might make things a bit easier for you in the future.

Don't tweak the parameters directly in the sequencer. Go back to the original combi and make changes there. Then go back to the sequencer and use the Copy From Combi menu command. The note data will remain intact and the updated timbres will be copied in. There are a few considerations so you should review this command before using it. Check out page 166 in the Parameter Guide.

Thanks for this. I'm learning quickly that certain process need to precede others for a safer working arrangement. I am actually quite impressed with the Krome and am finding my way around yet there are many things that could make the workflow easier. But this is dependent on what it is one wants to achieve as there are many options available. Perhaps too many!
