Trinity bank problem
Hi to everyone,
I've bought myself a Trinity a few days ago and i've noticed i only have
program banks A and B, and combi banks A and B.
Since i didn't get a factory floppy with the keyboard i'm wondering how can
i return the keyboard to factory settings so i have the programs and combis
like the trinity has by default.
Thnx in advance.

Hi!
By default Trinity has exactly that. Two Program banks (A+B) and two Combi banks (A+B).
The only way to expand this to four Program banks (A+B+C+D) AND four Combi banks (A+B+C+D) is via the PBS-TRI (PlayBack Sampler) expansion option.
Likewise, Bank 'M' or 'S' is displayed only if a Moss or Solo expansion card is installed respectively.
So it depends on your expansion options as to what banks are additionally available, at any one time.
The factory presets for A+B Programs and A+B Combis are available from Korg's site: http://www.korguksupport.co.uk/page.cfm?pageid=453
And there are more downloads from this very KorgForums site: http://www.korgforums.com/?show=1

Thnx for your replys.
I need just one more info. Since the keyboard is full with stuff from the previous owner, will the reinstallation of the OS reset it back to factory
settings or do i need the factory bank files?
Cause only thing i could find is the OS on Korg website.
If i need the bank files can anyone mail them to me or give a link for download?
Thnx

What do you mean by you 'can see them'?Sysryn wrote:Cause i can see the C and the D bank but i can't press them to select any of them.
If you don't have the PBS-TRI you can still load C+D banks from PCGs into your A+B banks. You do this by navigating the PCG from the Disk screen at a lower level, in other words Open the PCG instead of Load All. Then select Program or Combi and Open that. Then select C or D bank of the PCG and Load that - it will give you the option to load it into your A or B banks.
The manuals describe this. All the manuals for the Trinity can be found here: http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... 458#239458
The TR-Rack has 8MB additional ROM waveforms over the standard Trinity. Similar to the PBS-TRI, except the TR-Rack cannot import samples like the Trinity with PBS can - they are ROM based only. The extra banks are part and parcel with the TR-Rack.How come the Trinity Rack has 512 programs and 512 combis?
Do you actually need to upgrade your OS? Is your OS out of date? A re-installation of an OS will zero the banks.I need just one more info. However, if you are wanting to upgrade the OS (if needs be), if your Trinity doesn't have a Moss board installed the latest OS version is 2.4.1.
For Trinitys with a Moss board installed, the latest version is 3.1.2.
You can see the current version of your OS on the boot screen when you first switch on the Trinity.
It's not necessary to do any of this just to wipe the banks (you can simply load new banks over the present ones).
I gave you a link to the factory presets. See my first post.Cause only thing i could find is the OS on Korg website.

Hi:
If you want only the extra banks, you don't need the PBS board. You need to install 2 SRAM chips on the empty sockets at the mainboard.
Those chips are recquired.

Anyway, you can always buy a second hand PBS board, regards if it includes or not the two SRAM chips. Only you need to load manually banks C & D on A & B banks.
The board and the chips work togheter and separatelly. Of course, if you have the PBS board, it's so util have extra banks for patch storage.
Also, there are many PBS boards that don't came with the SRAM chips, so you can have a very good deal in buying the chips first (since you'll have extra banks inmediatelly) and late, search for a PBS board that don't came with the chips, and obtain a very low price.
Many electronic stores only sell those chips in great quantyties. So you can join with other Trinity's users and make the purchase.
