KELFAR TECHNOLOGIES INTRODUCES THE CUTTING-EDGE BREATH CONTROLLER BCK-1

Kelfar Breath Controller BCK-1 Provides Professional Musicians with Easy to Use, Highly Sensitive Expression Device

ROHNERT PARK, California: Kelfar Technologies today announced a revolutionary new product for professional musicians: the Kelfar Breath Controller (BCK-1), a device that enables musicians to control the expression of keyboard-based music using only their breath. The Kelfar BCK-1 enables musicians to control the softness and loudness of most electronic keyboard sounds by blowing into a mouthpiece that is adjusted to the individual's unique breath. The BCK-1 mouthpiece enables professional musicians to adjust the volume while playing, adding richness, depth, and expression to their performance.

"I wanted to create a precise method of volume control for musicians," said Karim El-Far, the president of Kelfar Technologies. "I am a musician as well as an engineer, so I understand the challenges performers face, and designed an accessory that would be easy to use during a performance while giving the best possible sound control."

The BCK-1 is the best device to bring out expression in sounds such as woodwind instruments, harmonic and string instruments reproduced on the keyboard. The BCK-1 works off of the BC input on devices such as the Kelfar BCXP PRO converter box, as well as or other devices that support a BC input, enabling it to control other MIDI parameters. Musicians can manage several parameters at once, including modulation amount, effect send, portamento and others. The BCK-1 works off of the BC input, enabling it to control other MIDI parameters.

Made of pharmaceutical-grade plastic, the BCK-1 can be quickly clipped onto the detachable lanyard for easy add on or removal. It can also be added to any standard headset, thus reducing the number of headsets a musician has to deal with during a performance and enhancing his personal comfort. It includes gain and offset adjustments so that each unit can be customized by the individual to respond to the subtlest aspects of breath control.

The BCK-1 offers musicians previously undreamed of levels of expression. Musicians can explore subtle nuances of modulation, effect and more with the BCK-1. It offers a handy, durable accessory that Kelfar Technologies believes will become an indispensable addition to the professional musician's instrument.

Each unit ships complete with accessories including the breakaway lanyard, flex arm mini-mount, flex arm clip, and six foot long 1/8" stereo cable to connect the unit to most standard keyboards.

The Kelfar Breath Controller is compatible with most popular keyboards and will work with any assignable expression controller input. For more information, please visit http://www.kelfar.net/

I received it today and I am blown away by it. My entire playing style will evolve because of this tool, it adds an unprecedented level of expression and articulation to the instruments. I highly recommend it to anyone that is serious about making their synth acoustic instruments sound real. This is a game changer.....

@robdevine - did you compare to other products out there? How did you decide.
I am ready to pull the trigger on some breath control, have a seen a few that look interesting but not much detail on what might set one apart form another.

That looks nice! I've been hoping to find a nice breath controller because I can't use an expression pedal. Bookmarked this page, and looking forward to more feedback on it. :D

I researched a few different models but none of them have as wide of a range of compatibility as this one, plus most importantly Kelfar Technologies have excellent product support and their controller is made to work with Amazing Soundsets made specifically for the Korg Kronos.
