Remove any usb devices and try a reboot?

I would also remove the power plug for 10 seconds. PCs sometimes do weird things on booting.

Very good advice - perhaps even make it 60 seconds...

Good luck

This advise would be appropriate for computer systems that have a "soft" power switch. Those systems have circuits that are always on in standby mode. Unplugging will power down all circuits which can in some cases force a reset or clear some bad data in memory areas etc.

The Kronos has a "hard" switch which is the same as unplugging it when it's off.

Korg service can help you. That is what they are there for.

Virko- same thing happened on my "original" Kronos. Not sure about "X" version. Is there a Kronos X forum. if not, might not be a good reason to start one. This way people with Kronos X problems don't have to weed through all the original Kronos problems on the forum. Sharp?

Isn't the only difference between X and original, extra ram and a different coloured strip on the weighted keybed of the 73 and 88? Isn't the 'sound engine' ie computer, the same?

For the most part, yes, but they do use a slightly different motherboard and processor. It doesn't actually affect what the board can do in a real sense, but assuming (and that's a big assumption) that it has anything to do with the mobo/cpu it's possible the X is different enough to not have the same issue.

I doubt it, but I just wanted to point out they're not 100 percent technically equivalent (even if you upgrade RAM and SSD).

i think its far too late to do that. Plus there is abundant good info here that applies to Both Kronos models.

Also consider there are 1000's of original Kronos owners who have never had ANY problem with defects.
