Hi guys..
My Triton's developed some sort of a new problem, once its been on for about an hour, it starts to jump presets randomly. It happened in the middle of a gig and it was a complete nightmare! Going from Piano to some random fast synth sound, then to brass and some rhythmic pattern, so you can imagine the band members/audience looking at me like.. wtf?!.
Its definately not the jogwheel as I had put tape over it so it doesnt move whilst im playing. Ive lost all confidence using this keyboard live now, as its done this problem twice.
Anyone had a similar issue before and know what could be causing the problem?
Thanks!
Keyboard changing sound by itself?

Most often seen source of this problem is the data wheel. which over time can become very sensitive to vibration, including that which might be caused by simply playing. Other components such as the up/down arrow keys might also do it if there's debris or moisture involved.
I'm not sure that the data wheel can be tightened from outside the board - disassembly and possibly replacement of the potentiometer may be the ultimate solution.
If you decide to go this route, a competent tech is probably the best person to do any component changes; also ask to have all the other components checked and cleaned for function/condition and that dust, debris, etc. be cleaned out while it's open since taking the thing apart is the bulk of the time/labor cost for the repair.

Yup, it's happened to me over the years with my Triton as well. I "exercise" the data wheel (give it a spin or two) from time to time for that reason.billbaker wrote:Most often seen source of this problem is the data wheel
Hasn't acted up in a long time, fortunately.

Randomly changing programs on a Triton Extreme
Having that problem myself. Anyone ever figure out what causes this, and what was repaired to fix the issue? Thanks very much!
Re: Randomly changing programs on a Triton Extreme
I'm assuming it's age, and perhaps some dirt. If you're comfortable opening your keyboard, you can always spray some canned air under the wheel. That may help.txjazz wrote: Anyone ever figure out what causes this, and what was repaired to fix the issue?
