Gooseneck Mic Replacment

Hi,

I need to get a replacment for my Gooseneck mic.

I've tried plugging a standard SM58 into the XLR input and i get no signal...?

Can someone tell me what sort of mic i need to buy and if it has any special requirments?

I need this to also work on my King Kong - which started a similar post - with no replies as of yet

Any help would be appreciated.

It's not easy...a standalone gooseneck mic is a bit of an oddball item, so you may either scour local music stores or you might have to contact Korg. A normal XLR mic shouldn't have any problems, so this really surprises me and leads me to believe there's either a problem with the synth itself (XLR socket, etc.) or you need to adjust your input sources and levels. Why does the mic need to be replaced?

I'd recommend plugging the Shure in as normal around a steady source of loudness to pick up, max the input settings and mess around with the input source selection switches. I'd give you better details on my configuration but i'm nowhere near my R3 at the moment!
