I'm beginning to think I have received a faulty volca beats.
Connected EMX MIDI out to Beats MIDI in and set both channels to 10. There is a connection and both devices are in sync, however, pressing 1&2 drum parts on EMX triggers kick and snare on volca, then 3&4 don't do anything at all, 5 (EMX) triggers 3 (Beats), 6A triggers 5, 6B-6, 7A-crash and 7B nothing.
As you can see, when I hit play on EMX, some drum parts don't trigger their equal on volca and parts 3&4 remain silent, as well as 7B
Any help?

Your volca is not faulty, it's just mapped different to the electribe. You will find the remaining volca beats sounds on other keys/triggers but not in the same order as the emx configuration.
My current Korg gear. MS20 Mini... & now the .... Oh, maybe not !

Thank you for the quick reply! I get it now, however I am still confused as to why none of the EMX drum or synth parts trigger hi tom (4) on volca beats. I've tried sending midi from a Mininova and had exactly same resultsDrHoo wrote:Your volca is not faulty, it's just mapped different to the electribe. You can change the EMX midi drum notes internally. (Korg EMX manual page 80, right half)
C2 => C1 ( Midi 36 )
D2 => D1 ( Midi 38 )
E2 => G1 ( Midi 43 )
F2 => D2 ( Midi 50 )
G2 => F#1 ( Midi 42 )
F#2 => A#1 ( Midi 46 )
A#2 => D#1 ( Midi 39 )
If you dont wanna do that and got a Midi USB cable you can use following software to create a mapping from EMX drums to Beats drums:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=84304
You'd basically leave the "MIDI out" part as is and change the "MIDI in" part (right side).
