Akai, Kurzweil -> Triton via a CF reader?

Triton reads Akai and Kurzweil samples right? I have a CF reader and some Akai discs. If I rip the Akai discs into a disk image, and copy these contents to the CF card, will I be able to use these sounds on Triton?

Or do I need a SCSI-CD reader?

I think the latter as the Triton has no way to "mount" the disk image, as far as I know. Should be in the manual though.
