A tempo = Resume the normal speed<br>Accelerando = Becoming gradually faster<br>Adagio = slowly<br>Allargando = Broadening out, often with an increase of tone<br>Allegro      Lively = reasonably fast<br>Andante = At a moderate pace<br>Brillante = Sparkling, brilliant<br>Brio = Vigour<br>Cantabile = In a singing style<br>Capo = The beginning<br>Con moto = With movement<br>Con sordini = With the mutes <br>Crescendo = Becoming gradually louder<br>Da Capo = From the beginning<br>Dal Segno = From the sign<br>Decrescendo = Becoming gradually softer<br>Dolce = Sweetly<br>Espressivo = With expression, with feeling<br>Forte (f) = Loud<br>Fortissimo (ff) = Very loud<br>Forzando = With a strong accent<br>Giocoso = Gay, merry<br>Grave = Very slow<br>Grazioso = Gracefully<br>largo = Slow and stately, broad<br>Leggiero = Lightly<br>Lento = Slowly<br>Maestoso = Majestically<br>Marcato = Marked, accented<br>Meno = Less<br>Meno mosso = Less movement<br>Mezzo forte (mf) = Moderately loud<br>Mezzo piano = Moderately soft<br>Misterioso = Mysteriously<br>Ped = Depress the sustaining pedal<br>Perdendosi = Dying away<br>Pesante      = Heavily<br>Piacevole = Pleasing<br>Pianissimo = Very soft<br>Pizzicato = Plucked<br>Poco a poco = Little by little<br>Presto = Very quick<br>Pretissimo = As fast as possible<br>Ritenuto (rit) = Hold back<br>Staccato = Short detached<br>Tranquillo = Quietly<br>Vivace = Lively, quick.<br>
