PA3X, PA600, PA900 factory styles "SHARING"

Post by karmathanever »

Hi guys

The last generation of PA arrangers comprised:-
PA2XPro (76-note)
PA800 (61-note)
PA588 (88-note)

Although these keyboard seemed to have the same styles, several were, in fact, different.
For example, my friend owned the PA588 and I was amazed at some of the factory styles that WEREN'T on my PA2Xpro (and visa versa) so we shared factory styles.

OK, I am prepared to dump all the PA3X factory styles and make them available and I wondered if anyone is prepared to do the same to share the PA900/PA600 factory styles (if 600/900 are different)?

I am sure Korg will not have any problems with this.
(If they do, I'll trade my PA3X for a T5  )

I have posted a link to this in the PA600/PA900 forums too.

So, what do you think?

Cheers

Pete :D

Hi Veren

It's true - some of the styles (with same names) were different between PA2XPro and PA588 and PA800
There were some very nice PA588 styles that I didn't have on my PA2XPro (also PA800!!!).

I know that there are some nice styles on the PA900 which are not on PA3X and I am sure the reverse applies too.
Member "rikkisbears" actually spent time analysing this and came up with the "differences" in the PA2/PA800 days.

This may mean we have to sift thru & compare styles but we all should end up with some "new" ones.

Cheers

HI Pete,

Sounds great...

I just went thru the PA3x and PA600 factory styles list and found that the below styles in PA3x are missing in the PA600. Few overlaps / name differences would be there :) :). So if you post the PA3X file set lot of PA600 users (Like me :)) are gonna have a good time...

I couldnt find any styles of PA600 missing in 3X. Probably Pa900 has something to offer..
Waiting for the PA3x style SET file.

Hi

That is a very good idea. Especially if we can get the QT styles as well.

I couldnt find any styles of PA600 missing in 3X.
Hi Darryl

Just wondered if you have "played" them on both keyboards???
I found many differences but the style "names" were the same….

just wondered…

Hi Pete,

You came up with a simple but very valuable idea (sure would like to call it my splendid brainchild, but alas, it's not). But I'm quite willing in helping out to make this project a succes.
The first step is get hold of the factory styles from the other keyboards. Have you received any reaction from members of the other forums (Pa2X/800/588/600/900) if someone is willing to save the factory styles?
The second step is to compare the styles to sort out which ones are different.
The third step is to make the styles available to other users by means of converting to the right style format.
The fourth and last step is make adjustments to the style so they sound right (for instance volume levels), although this is often a question of personal taste.
I can help out with step 2 and 3, just let me know.

Hi Pete,

I haven't played the PA3x styles.. Just compared the list and highlighted the differences. If i get the PA 3x style set would work on the actual difference "Not only the names" but the actual pattern itself. I remember seeing the set in PSR tutorial site / synthzone but unable to fetch it.

regards,
Darryl
