It is real. I have talked with the developer. Unfortunately, there are still months of development before it is ready. The announcement was perhaps a bit premature.

Still, it will happen.

Sharp wrote:As a Windows Tablet user, I could do that since KORG first released the KRONOS Editor.

Looking back now, there's was the initial fun factor having the KRONOS display in a portable format, but in reality any editor that is simply replicating the KRONOS display is utterly pointless.

Regards
Sharp.
Not really: you can do multitouch gestures into a tablet. You can also move faders and pots. This can not be done into Kronos touchscreen

Is this App going to have track edit?

Is it going to be any more different than the current Kronos Editor App?

What special features apart from the Kronos Editor will this App have?

I have a blind friend (who's been asking questions in this forum about how accessible is Kronos for him) and i was thinking that something like this can be really useful for users like him, since there is this powerful screen reader (Voice Over) on iDevices.
.....wish its real!

I can confirm it is real (seen it live).

I've wanted this for a long time. I will buy this! I love the feel of dragging sliders and multitouch on the ipad, if it allows you to do everything (and more) that the kronos screen allows I will buy it right away. Please keep up the development on this! I'm very excited to see the end result.

It's not made by me, I don't know if I can mention names (yet).

It would be cool if the developer could integrate more features to the setlist mode for better live control. I wonder if it would be possible to leave the kronos screen on setlist mode and have the ipad controlling other menus simultaneously. Who wouldn't want dual screen on their kronos?

I can see ok the letters in the Kronos, but the screen is dificult to touch, not always has a good response. Sometimes I need to touch it several times. So, I suppose that it will be a lot easier to work the screen in the Ipad.
Waiting for it!

Controlling the Kronos from a distance would be VERY useful indeed (e.g. from your main midi device).

BUT CONSIDER THIS:

The Sysex tab could potentially be REALLY interesting. For example, could there be a separate sysex page for each set list slot? AND with "learn" mode? (Even better with user defined buttons, sliders etc)

imagine......

select set list slot then
change drum track on the fly
change Karama parameters on the fly
select SPECIFIC user parameters to adjust ON THE FLY!!!! (no screen diving!)
move to next set list slot
And so on...

We can only dream

Release date?

PLEEEEEEASE!

The demo on facebook seems to show a dual screen capability, where the ipad can either be on the same "page" as the internal Kronos screen, or a different one.

I think another advantage would be readability. People have complained about the poor viewing angle on the Kronos screen.. since it can't be tilted up like the Oasys, it can get very hard to read, for example, if it further up and back as when used on a second tier. Their are tons of stands and mounts for the iPad, you would be able mount and angle it as desired to be able to read and used from any playing angle.

That would be very handy for outdoor gigs. Last year I played one and because of the sunshine, I couldn't see my screen at all. I ended up making a cardboard shield but it only worked a bit. The screen doesn't go bright enough.

I have the same problem outdoors.
If your in the sun, there is no screen.

It has never had a heat problem thankfully.
But the screen is useless. The iPad sitting right above
was fine. I used the iPad to cover/shield the kronos screen.
Strangely it is a perfect fit in that space as if it was designed
for it.

You would think some of the Korg iPad devs have looked at that
and said "hmmm". They are very good at it after all.r

Perhaps next go around the iPad will be the user interface?

If this does get done soon I would pay for it.
