Korg Gadget External Keyboard Support?

Post by defwheezer »

How does one get an external controller to work with Gadget? The app is awesome, but the touchscreen "keys" are never very satisfying- would be great to be able to control from an external keyboard or even better a blueTooth enabled physical midi controller.

Is there a way to map keyboard keystrokes to Gadget keys?

You have to plug the controller prior to opening gadget then everything works.

Not "everything" works, the pitch bend and mod wheel do not work, despite several gadgets having the appropriate controls - this seems like a big oversight and limits expressive playing.

Yes I should not have said everything. I meant it works. As far as an oversight I do not think it was at all. Korg put this out specifically for NAMM and has promised updates for fixes to things that were not yet ready at release time. I would have to believe that better midi would be in an update in the near future.

Audio tracks and more gadgets are coming as well.

That will all be most welcome! I am loving it so far, so extra features can only make it better.

Indeed it does work with an external controller, at least the standard keys do.

Really need to have a way to map a physical midi controller to be able to control the synthesizer knobs and pitch bend, not just basic keyboard keys, though.

That would be F*CKIN awesome.

Honestly, I only foresee this getting better and better with updates.

Hardware problems

Well, in addition to the pitchbend and modulation wheels not working, the sustain pedal is not working either. I'm totally disappointed on Korg... Don't you expect that real pianists will work on your app??

As an earlier post suggests, I hope that we can expect support for all these things in an early update.
