3 GB ram installed but only shows 2 GB Free.
Hello everyone,
I am new user here. I am a kronos owner. I bought it used and the seller said it had 3 gb installed by authorized korg dealer. When I go to global and option info it says 3 GB ram.. but in sample manage it shows 2 gb.. Please, can you help me explain why it is showing 2 gb total in sample manage.
Thank you for your help.

I believe this is normal. I think 1GB is used up by preload or system stuff. It's been talked about in the forums. Google it. You might find something there.

This excerpt from the Parameter Guide (on the opening page of the Sampling Mode chapter) may be helpful:

Sampling and RAM
The KRONOS comes with 2 GB of RAM pre-installed; the KRONOS X comes with 3 GB of RAM. Approximately 1 GB of this RAM is used by the operating system and ROM sample data. The remainder is shared between the samples in EXs, User Sample Banks, and Sampling Mode.

So, what you're seeing is as expected: with 3GB of physical RAM installed, you'll have about 2GB left for EXs, User Sample Banks, and Sampling Mode.
Hope this helps,
Dan
