Been playing around with Z3TA on my iPad for about an hour now. It is simply spectacular. Well worth every penny.

Bummer it requires iOS7. I'm on the iPad2, and have heard upgrading to iOS7 will cause audio breakup problems. So I'll have to wait till I can afford a new iPad before I can install this baby.

As far as I can tell so far it has all of the functionality of the plugin. The controls are organized a bit differently to take better advantage of the touch screen and the space available. I think it's an improvement.

If you are familiar with the plugin version you will have no problem using this app. I don't think there is any way to import patches from the plugin but you should be able to manually recreate them. Polyphony is limited to 8 voices on iPad 4 and the user guide says less on earlier models. And yes, there is a user guide that is very nicely done.

This is a very well done professional class synth app. If you like the plugin you will like this.

Over on the Audiobus forum some one mentioned that they loaded their vst patches into ios with no problems using ifunbox.
Yes I am having a lot of fun with this synth. It works great on the older ipad mini. A few patches stuttered but I easily fixed that by a buffer rate increase and the response remained very stable and quick.

The virtual keyboard and knobs on Gadget are a real, absolute pain in the arse. I have never been as frustrated with any instrument app as much as this. Horrible.

Really wish you can get rid of the MIDI timeline/score above each gadget and turn the app landscape to enlarge and make each gadget full screen.

If I get something like the IK Multimedia iRig Midi, can I use something like my Virus Indigo to control all the knobs on the Gadget as well as the keys? Reason I ask I'm unsure how you would set up MIDI knob-learn on the iPad, or whether you'd need a dedicated MIDI keyboard like the Korg Kontrol.

Thanks

Cake says polyphony of Z3TA is only 4 on iPad 4. It's pretty unclear in the appstore.

This is a point at which Triton Taktile should come into game as dedicated integrated hardware controller for Gadget at least. But Korg is different company ... Obviously Korg divisions, which developed these separate products hardly know each others existence.

External controller support is something that Gadget is really lacking at the moment. You can't map midi cc's to any control. It doesn't even respond to pitch bend. I'm sure this will be corrected in an update.

For me on my iPad 3, the biggest problem is latency. I can't even tap in a groove on time due to the bad latency.

The sounds are very good for the style IMO. It's probably pretty darn good on the iPad Air.

If you are talking about Gadget, go to the ipad settings app, find gadget and change the latency.
