Question re loading EXs90
Hello. I'd be very grateful for some help please.
At the moment I have the new (free) CX organ sounds loaded in their default bank of U-G; also, I'd like to load the demo version of the Irish Acts Assault (EXs90) to try prior to purchase.
However, from the Assault pdf, it seems that it will also load into U-G thus (presumably) over-writing the CX organ sounds ?
Is this correct, or can I re-direct the EXs90 into my bank U-F which is empty ?
Thank you

Thank you for the reply. However, I'm still not with you. Perhaps I can talk you through what I'm doing:
I go to Disc mode, select the USP drive and from it select EXs90.
I'm then presented with 6 files - the 2 largest being EXs90.tar.gz Exs90.exsins
but when I select any of them, I'm not presented with an option to Open, only either to Load or to Install ?

Hi Block D.
All EXs Libraries have to be “Installed” first before you can use them.
To install any EXs Library, please see Dan's excellent post HERE for detailed instructions.
If you run into any problems with any of that let me know.
After you have installed the library as per the instructions above, you will now find a folder on your KRONOS called Irish Acts. Inside this folder will be EXs 90 and it's PCG / KSC file.
To load the samples, load the KSC file. To load the PROG sounds, load the PCG file.
If you want to load the PROG sounds to some other bank than U-G, use the OPEN option on the screen to drill into the PCG file. When you see the U-G back use the drop down menu top right to load the selected bank into any bank you want.
Regards
Sharp.

Just spent a very enjoyable afternoon playing with the demo of Assault - Claire Aah and the Irish flute are just fantastic.
Final question, promise. After playing the EXs90 demos I then went back to standard Kronos sounds but many had the "Samples Missing" flag at top of the screen. I fixed this by simply turning Kronos off and then back on again.
When I buy Assault, will the same thing happen re "Missing Samples" message ? I know I don't get it having bought the EXs91 Accoustic Guitars.
Thanks and regards

Hope you don't mind I will jump in. This shouldn't be a problem for you if you get your setup correct. You have to make sure you don't unload, or overwrite your current samples. It is easy enough and my guess is that Sharp has instructions on how to do that. But.. Bottom line, it should not be an issue for you.Block D wrote:Sharp

Hi Block D.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the demo. With regards to your preload samples missing, to answer you correctly I'd have two questions.
1: Do you have a KRONOS X or the original KRONOS?
2: If you have the original KRONOS, did you upgrade the RAM?
Thanks.

Hi Sharp
Its Kronos X - 6 weeks old.
I bought your Acoustic Guitar Exs91 a couple of weeks back. This installed without any issues re "Missing Samples" message.
I also have also Karo Symphonic Library loaded.
Whether it makes any difference (?), for the EXs90, I loaded the KSC file and was then demo-ing the sounds from USP stick (i.e. I hadn't actually loaded the PCGs).
Thanks again

Hi Block D.
I would assume it was just how you loaded the file. You might have selected an option to flush out the RAM instead of appending it as virtual memory.

Excellent, enjoy. You were absolutely right - I hadn't set KSCs to Append. Have now, and all OK. I have also got Assault fully loaded in its new home in bank U-FF using your instructions.
I hope EXs92 is on the way !

Sharp

Purchase of EXs90
After listening to the online demo's of EXs90, I purchased the sound-set via the Korg website. I received the key, to activate the files. I downloaded the demo version from the website and followed the process to unzip and upload the files into the Kronos. However, when I want to install the EXs (EXs.exsins file), I get an error message that the file is corrupt. I have downloaded the zip file 3 times and copied to a USB stick, each time I get the same error message.
I have a Kronos X 73 with the latest operating system installed (V2.1.1)
Is there another location where I can download the original file ? Is there something wrong with the source file.
PS: the USB stick is formatted as FAT-32 MS DOS, which is the requirement i believe.
Thank you for your support.
