The "same old technology" wasn't all that bad, it just suffered from an antiquated display, DSP hogging Leslie and a lack of detailed samples, all of which have been improved. I want to hear it.

My question would be, does it have VAST but with an improved interface? I think that would be a leap ahead for them.

I don't hold much respect for Kurzweil simply because they have been caught in a time warp. We don't live in the late 90's any more, but I guess it's a start for them with something that's actually modern. Weather or not it has VAST, well.... they better have something new because VAST doesn't cut it any more with the likes of the KRONOS and it's 9 sound engines.

Sharp.

Sharp you know more about it then I do but nevertheless a user friendly interface for VAST would be a leap ahead for them! Lol

You are comparing a stage piano with a workstation...

True, but for everything else they make right now, their samples sound dated and the product spec reads like something from the late 90's.

Maybe this new instrument is a sign of change. A welcome change too. It looks like a great product.

The title of this thread is clear.

Regardless of what the original poster then went onto say in his first post, I have not specifically compared this keyboard to a KRONOS. If you think I have, your mistaken and that was not my intention. I was specifically talking about sound engines, about VAST, and how Kurzweil are so dated in both samples and product spec for all their products. But I went into welcome this new keyboard as it seems to be a sign of change for them.

Sharp.
