Sharp edges between keys!

Post by jaygriz »

I just unboxed my new PA3X (61) 2 nights ago. Can anyone tell me yes/no ... do your white keys have a sharp seam between the white keys? It is apparently a manufacturing artifact. This same seam extends around the front of each key where it is seemingly polished with more attention (albeit to less utility). After 1 night of jamming, I've taken some damage on my thumb just below the cuticle. I have pretty typical and good technique (seriously). I've never had this issue on grand pianos, nor my several accordions, or the other keyboards I own. I'm just saying I'd really appreciate you colleagues feeling around for that and letting me know if it is typical. My SN is 60084XX. I find this a toyish oversight on a "professional" axe with an otherwise decent keybed. If it is typical on all PA3X's, if yes, I suppose I'll sand each edge carefully with wet sandpaper. Oh joy!

My PA3X also arrived with a malfunctioning battery. While the board is ON, the Standby light alternates green to red. Under Global: --> General Controls --> Clock & Battery I immediately get the error "Battery Status Fails: Battery is damaged. Please replace it." It had the "good battery" sticker on the box. Maybe just a loose connection!?! I don't know my way around the insides yet. Anyone have experience with that error? ... [I filed a support case with Korg about this issue ... no reply yet.]

PA3X Key issue + Dead Battery

Post by DESERT GUY »

Hi,
I wanted to let you know January 2014, a friend of mine purchased a new PA3X and it came with a dead battery, too. Same issue with the standby LED alternating between Green & Red. After sending the original PA3X back to the dealer, and receiving a second one, that, too had a bad battery! She finally received a replacement battery about 2 month after initially receiving the first one. She has had that particular battery for about 5 weeks, and now it's showing defective already. She has another battery on order from Korg. Wonder what's going on with the batteries?? I have a PA3X that's now about 3years old, replaced the battery because Korg had a recall. I've had no issue with my keyboard battery.

Did I code that wrong? (my previous post) Maybe cut and paste the link to see a picture of my keys. Do you guys have that crude seam between your keys?
