Change sync pulse to 16th notes instead of 8th?

I'd like my Beats to trigger the arpeggiator on some old gear. It will send 8th notes (1 pulse every two steps) but I'd like to 16th notes (1 pulse/1 step). I've thought of a couple workarounds, but I bought the Beats (in part) for the immediacy.

Does anyone know of a secret handshake that will double the Volcas' sync frequency?
