Problem loading samples - no sound !!

Post by alive555 »

I seem to have a problem with the sampler.

for each of the 16 steps in the sequencer some of the steps i cant load any samples. even though im using the exact same sample for each of the 16 steps.

how can this be ?

ps i already

1. reset the device
2. loaded up the factory soundbank.
3. tried using other external samples

reset device again rinse repeat - zip !

all did not fix the problem

pls help !

you cannot load samples under the 16 steps. nothing is wrong with your ESX. just dial the samples under the drum parts. and loops under the stretch parts.

hope this helps

Judging by your name, you're probably more used to the way Roland handles samples in their Sp-x0x boxes. The ESX doesn't load the samples to be "hard-wired" to individual pads in banks, but instead you load all the samples into memory and put them into individual instrument sections, which you can define by track. Just make sure you're in the PART mode of the pattern you want to edit, pick a part, then scroll the wheel to select the sample to be used in that part. The 16 steps are simply the sequencing steps, or the keys themselves if you're in Keyboard mode.
