Usimg the vocoder live

Post by peyotelee »

Hi All.

WHen trying to use the vocoder live witht he OEM mic/headset all the other sound going on on the stage bleeds into the mic and triggers the vocoder input, no matter how low I make the audio in (mic) pot.

Any ideas on how this can be used in a loud live environemnt?

Thanks

Hi, you may also play with the threshold and gate sensitivity of the vocoder parameters.
They basically control the threshold of the audiolevel that is required for the signal coming from the mic before it is inserted into the vocoder.

There is no golden setting. It depends on the stage setup. Experiment with it during sound check.

External solutions could be to use a more directive mic.
