Volca beats feature request

Post by ditto »

It would be cool to be able to extend the recorded pattern beyond sixteen steps, especially when you're recording stutter and time movements.

Indeed, this is really my one and only gripe with the beats (besides of course the poor quality of the crash and the snare (sorta)).

Maybe a firmware upgrade that will allow you to use FUNC + PART <> to allow you to extend the pattern to 32, 48, or 64 steps, and the display could indicate how many bars you've extended to (1-4)? That would be AMAZING! But I guess it depends if the unit has enough built in memory for that feature

My fingers are crossed, Korg!

Is memory an issue at this price point? Or did the developer(s) just not think of extending beyond 16 steps?

Probably both.

I was thinking of extending to 32 or 64, but why 48?

It would be nice too if the number of recorded patterns could at least be doubled to 16 to match the number of tabs. I find it hard to believe there wasn't enough RAM to do that.
