Any reason why certain keys no longer working?

Post by themusicman2001 »

Hi All

Is there anything I can do to ascertain why a certain three keys on my KARMA are no longer creating any effect when pressed?

Can I clean anything? Is it worth contacting Korg UK to see if it's worth having a service (but one I can't afford atm)?

Any advice please from a long standing member?

This is a common problem for synths. You need to open the back and take off the affected contact strip and clean under the rubber with some alcohol.

Heres how to do this on a Roland D-50. It should be more or less the same, except on the Karma you'll just unscrew the contact board and you'll have the bubbles in front of you

This is something you may be able to do yourself if you're careful. Use common sense
