How to sync Volca Bass Oscillators

Post by chris86 »

Hi guys, please can you help me to sync the 3 oscillators on Volca Bass ?
My Main problem is when i use 3 oscillators i have a not a linear regular sound but there is a continuos effect like flanger and other, so i need to use 3 oscillators without problems, just regular 3 oscillators for FAT sound...

Please can you help me?

Do you get this effect when all the oscillators are in perfectly in tune with each other?

Yes, when them are to OFF and when them are detuned.

How could i do ?

Please note, this is not a proper flanger effect, i mean that there is a continuing morphing in the shape but i just want a linear fat sound with 3 osc.

they´re analog oscillators... they´re never going to be perfectly in phase/synced. it´s called "drift" and many digital/virtual synths take a lot of effort simulating this for its warmth.

if this is right after you power the unit on, however, keep in mind that the auto-tuning feature of the volcas takes a couple of seconds (up to a minute) to kick in.

Just plug it into a mixer, select one oscillator, then turn the volume up on the mixer so that it's three times as loud. That's exactly how three stacked oscillators synced in perfect phase and pitch are going to sound. "Fatness" actually comes from how each of the oscillators sound slightly different when stacked together, which is the flanger/chorus like effect you are hearing.
