Legendary Strings VS KARO Symphonic Sound Library

Post by Pouyakhoshgoo »

Hi everyone:

I was just checking these samples on Korg's website.
They both really sound amazing! They both are just great!
So making decision is really hard.
I'll be really happy to hear from those of you who already purchased them and tried them to see which one is better, more realistic etc.

Also i would like to know if KARO's contains other sounds as well, such as horns, flutes, oboe, harps...?! Or is it just strings?!

I appreciate it in advance!

Can be difficult to choose either one....both have good voices.

The Karo strings do have other instruments as well, which is shown in the download or the pdf etc.
(If you've loaded them into the Kronos, you will find them....).

Or....go to their website where there are lists etc.

http://www.karo-sounds.com/webkronos/products_e.html

Using the Karo Ex51 Unison Orchestra myself and am pleased with most of the sounds.....not all of them, though.
I don't use any of the other instruments, just the strings etc.

Best Wishes.

I bought Legendary Strings. Like the tremolos and the ability to change the sounds with the SW1 and SW2. I recommend you to look for the videos in youtube.

Why not install both demo versions and play with them for a while? You will see which sounds included as well.
Best regards, Robert

I liked Karo and Legendary, but had issues with each.
I thought Karo sounded really great, but not as polished as I would expect for the money. Some stuff felt "unfinished". To get all the sounds I wanted (each Library was a bit "light" on content and overlapped IMO) I'd have to buy 3 libraries which was FAR too expensive. All THREE of those libraries (EXs50, EXs51,EXs52) should have been ONE library for $249 AFAIC. If it were, I would have bought it and not given it a second thought. But at $600 (Or $550 "on sale")? Karo can kiss my ass.

Legendary I felt sounded "polished", but not as intimate or realistic as Karo perhaps. Though it was still really good and worthy of purchase. The reason why I did NOT but Legendary is it requires GOBS of RAM. So much that it became really limiting if I wanted to load in much else even with the Kronos expanded IMO.

That said, I've been torn between finding a VSTi I truly like and converting to Kronos or waiting til there's a sale for the Karo that lets me get all three libs at a more reasonable price.

Oh and did I mention wanting more banks to PUT all this stuff? This has been keeping me from buying libraries also. Kinda sucks to have to pick and choose which ones to load and then discard the rest because my board wears a lot of hats live. Studio it's not a problem, but then might as well go VSTi!
