Erase Fader Movements

Post by db1 »

Hello everyone:

I have a quick question. Is there any way I can erase fader & track panning movements I recorded in sequence mode? I know how to erase & move different parts of a sequence, but this I can’t figure out.

Thank you all in advance.

I've been doing it through use of the "Midi Event Edit" of the Track Edit drop down. Locate the measure you want to edit then change the "Vel." value, or "cut" it altogether. Same with panning. After working with it some it's becomes a familiar tool.

You might want to filter the events in that menu so you can locate and delete easily these events.

A much faster way is to select ERASE MEASURE. In the pop up box, you can select which KIND of data to erase. Select Control Change or Exclusive to erase the fader/knob movements. Which one you select will depend on the Global setting that you recorded with. (GLOBAL - MIDI - "Sequence MIDI Out Setup" - "Param Edit" - Control Change or SysEx Param Change).

Also, you will need to apply this to the channel that the fader movements are recorded on. Ideally, you would overdub record the fader movement for channel 3 onto that same channel. That way, you can erase the movement on just that channel. You can also record all faders to one channel and have the mix in one place.
