Moss-tri

Post by philip »

Folks, hi. I just want to ask I've got a solo-tri installed in me Trinity, I'd like to upgrade to moss-tri(z1). I'd like to know, will installation of moss-tri give me the arpeggiator to my trinity?

Hi Phil, unfortunately there's no arpeggiator on Trinity whatsoever.

I use external devices (such as MC505) to arpeggiate the Trinity's Moss instead.

Should be pretty much default settings, my config was nothing out of the ordinary.

Cables:
Trinity midi out > MC505 midi in
Trinity midi in > MC505 midi out

Trinity (global P1) settings:
MIDI channel = 1 (or #)
Local = On
Note Receive = all

MC505 (MIDI) settings:
Remote Keyboard = On (important if you want to play the 505's arp from the Trinity itself)
Manually select Part 1 (or #) on the 505's mixer.
Turn Arpeggiator On.

(# = a MIDI channel / Part of your choice, but both these two numbers should match on both Trinity and 505. In other words select MC505 Part 1 when using Trinity MIDI channel 1, select MC505 Part 2 when using Trinity MIDI channel 2, etc.)

Play the 505's arpeggiator from the Trinity or from the 505 itself. Either way it will send all of the 505's arpeggiations to the Trinity in realtime.

I love the MC505's arpeggiator, there are so many features on it, far exceeding most other synths, it's incredibly dynamic.

No worries, if you have any problems, let me know. :) The 505's arpeggiator breathes a huge wealth of new sonic life into the Trinity, particularly with Solo/Moss. The accents on the 505's arp are superb and they become even more dynamic when key velocity is taken into account (when played from the Trinity).

I also have a Virus, but its arpeggiator isn't half as good as the 505's for features or realtime performance.
