Guys I bought a Korg Kross 61 two weeks ago and I must say it is a big comfort after carrying Kronos X73 to all the gigs and rehearsals for 1,5 years. It is only 4.3 kg which you can carry with only one hand very easily. And it is very very programmable almost like Kronos. Lots of modulation sources, AMS mixers, LFOs,filters and effects etc... And the editor software's interface is very very similar to Kronos interface. Most of the time all I had to do was to read the parameters from programs, combis and effects of Kronos and enter them to the same places in Kross! You can create 16 part combis with lots of controls. If 61 keys are not enough for you, you can use it with a midi keyboard or better with another small synth such as MiniNova like I do. It has also other great features such as sequencer, Electribe style step sequencer, arpeggiator, 16x4 favourites, etc.. And the best part is it can work on batteries! I edited a few programs in the car today
It has a few limitations and downsides of course. First of all no sampling. Secondly organ sounds are not perfect but they are ok. But one and most important problem is although it has 5 IFXs, 2 MFXs and more than 130 type of effects (with almost same parameters on Kronos) ; you can only use reverbs or delays on MFX 2. So you have to use either delay or reverb. It is very compelling while dealing with combis. But anyway as I mentioned I already use it with MiniNova for more keys; and when I have to use for example a synth lead with delay and EP with reverb, I use MiniNova sounds for delayed sounds. But other than this, there is not such a big shocking downside. The rest is very acceptable when compared to its price and level.
Anyway after having constant back pains, these downsides are really nothing. I've been using it in rehearsals and easy gigs for two weeks. And even some of my bandmates haven't noticed the change in the sound

It has definitely more pros than cons. I think it is a serious workstation with lots of flexibilities. It is like carrying a mini Kronos

If you think that the sound system in the venue isn't worth carrying a Kronos, or tired of the weight, I really recommend a Kross!
