Can you midi dump all synth data to a hard disk recorder

Discussion relating to all other KORG synth related products that don’t have a dedicated section. For example, OASYS PCI, M1, N Series, 01W series, T series, and more…

Can you midi dump all synth data to a hard disk recorder

Post by The Tracker »

I have old synth's with cassette tape back up feature which I have managed to back up to my Korg hard disk multi track recorder. I have a Korg Wavestation that doesn't have a built in floppy disc or cassette tape backup feature. Has anyone ever midi dumped a backup from a Korg synth straight to a hard disk recorder, through a midi cable, with no computer ?
Thanks

If that harddisk recorder has a midifuntion in a way of a sequencer...... I doubt it! There are loads of free midiapplications to record and store sysex, even complete sequencers for free.

But no, I don't think your HD recorder can do it.
