P-PITCH EG RESET AMS

Post by wadeal »

I am working my way through the manual with a view to learning how to program the Kross properly - rather than by simply pushing buttons and hoping to get close to a sound I want.

The videos on Youtube are great for the basic stuff, but the manual and parameter guide were written in a foreign language. I know a little bit about oscillators, LFOS etc, but I have reached a blank at the P-Pitch EG, and in particular the use of the reset AMS control.

As I understand it, the pitch envelope is basically how the pitch of a sound changes over the course of time from the point at which I strike a key.

AMS reset (according to the parameter guide) allows me to use a number of things (mod wheel, tempo control, a foot switch etc) to reset the envelope. The problem is that I can't seem to get it to do anything or figure out where this would be useful.

I have been trying to find a sound and then mess with the modulation wheel as the AMS reset source, but it does very little with any of the sounds I have started with.

Can someone give me an example of how this would be used (in plain English) please?
