Midi Designer Template for AL-1 (iPad) Work in Progress

Post by Broadwave »

I've just been delving into Midi Designer for iPad, and have spent the past few days figuring out Sysex codes for the Kronos... Yup, I've had a fun week

It's still early days, but I've started an editor for the AL-1, mainly because that's the one engine I know back to front, inside out etc.

It's going to be slow, as there's over 600 parameters to sort through, but here's a hint as to what's to come:

Good stuff, I use Midi Designer for a number of synths, but this would be great.

Ah... I've just discovered that maximum tabs (6 per page) and banks (4 for "one big page") may not be enough for a logical layout.

Not giving up though, I'll just have to squeeze more parameters onto each page.

I've made life easier by creating a bunch of "preset" knobs, so now it's just a matter of drag, drop and edit the sysex code. Oscillators done, moving onto filters.

I've also completed a template for the Roland FA06/08 Supernatural Synth section (available from Midi Designers Community pages, if you want to try it). Much more fun than delving into menus, pushing buttons etc

Hope that is not a permanent snag / limitation.

What about running two instances in parallel?

Split into relevant areas etc

More work for you.

That looks absolutely amazing, and really handy....I can't wait it to be released, using the bigger high quality screen of the ipad will help me to save time and strees. :)

Filters and Amp completed, but as I suspected, I've run out of pages and tabs :(

I'll contact Dan, the app creator, and see if more tabs/pages can be implemented in an update.

that probably has been a lot of work kronik, great work!

i really like that app too on the iPad, and indeed more tabs would be a nice feature.

You're probably going to wait with a release until you get an answer from him?
