Kross: How many splits can I have?

I have read the manuals, watched many YT videos, but cannot figure out how many splits I can affect on the Kross. One place in the manual indicates that I can have "up to 16 Timbres", but I cannot fathom if those timbres equate to splits or split pairs or what. Someone please help. How many splits can I get on Kross?

Splits are set in Combi Mode. You can have 16 of them. Page 79 in the Parameter Guide explains how to set the Key Zones. Basically you select the timbre (1 - 16) and then set the top key and bottom key for the zone. They can be perfect splits or they can overlap any way you want.
