What's your favorite wedge monitor?
I play in the praise band at our church. We're moving into a new sanctuary with an excellent new sound system. Unfortunately, they did not buy new monitors and the old ones are crap. I can pick any new wedge I want. (If the church doesn't pay for it, I'll buy it myself.)
I want something full range that my Kronos German grands will sound good through, especially when I'm playing solo for offertories, etc. I'm considering the Yamaha CM15V. Does anyone of another favorite?
FWIW, up until now I've been playing through my Bose L1 classic. With the new sound system, that won't be necessary.

Contrats on the new sound system! I use the EV ELX112p speakers as my mains for my keyboards playing solo And as monitors when running through a PA. They sound great with keyboards & have a better dispursion than the QSC12. I would highly recommend them.
BTW you can add a matched sub-woofer to really rattle the house but I get great low end without them.
My 2 cents,
Larry

As always I love my QSC K10.
Before the K10 I tried a little EV it sounded great as well. Many of these class D self powered speaker sound good now you really should road trip and try a few brands out.
As to dispersion that is something to think about because as a wedge just how far around do you want to disperse your sound.

Has anybody tried the Mackie DLM8 or 12?
I currently use SRM450's, while they sound great, but the sound does not really come together until your about 8 to 10 feet away, and when I use them as wedges (3-4 foot). The sweet spot is very narrow, and the closer and louder the monitor volume the more narrow the sweet spot. The DLM is a single source (tweeter inside the woofer) and the sweet spot seems to much wider and better balance between the low and high ends.
The Bose L1 series seems to work well as a live sound monitor at close distance.

I haven't tried the Mackie DLM series but I'm very familiar with SRM450's. I've got 2 that are blown taking up space in my garage and one still in use. They were great when they first came out but there are several superior alternatives IMHO.
When I started looking for better alternatives I first went with JBL PRS712 - mainly because I have the PRS735's as my main hi/mid cabs for club gigs and I love the 735's. I was less than impressed with the 712's although they were definitely a step up from the mackies. I ended up trading the PRS712's in on a pair of QSC K12's and they kick butt in a glorious way! That being said, I think the best way to go is in ears if you're purchasing for your own monitoring needs only.

IEM will never be part of my rig. According to an audiologist I met, there is no safe volume when the sound source is in the ear canal. If the band is extremely loud, it probably doesn't matter since damage is occurring anyway.
I'm looking for a passive monitor. If I were to use powered system, I'd stick with my Bose.
