Heard samples of Omnisphere software, please read....
I'm thinking of dishing out a lot of money to get the sounds that omnisphere produces. I lead worship and have always played the sounds from a keyboard. Midi is hard to learn and expensive. I heard some of the sounds guys are creating like, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl1GCn2njJc
I was wondering if there are any sounds that Kronos users have made that are very simular to that from the link i posted. I use a lot of pads. I love strings. Kronos has ok strings and pads. Piano, organs, Ep's are great. Dont want to have to buy this just for pads and strings. I want to get as close as possible to the sounds on this link. Please let me know if this is possible.

Omnisphere is a beast but most pads you can create on kronos without an issue. Kronos is a real pad monster due of the different engines.
So if it is only for pads , you can trust on the Kronos
Omnisphere though is a must have for all kind of things and is one of the best software romplers/synthesizers on the market.

you could download a couple of my free soundsets which contains lots of pads, or you could go for the premium soundsets on my site which are mostly focused on wave sequenced pads.
Also sounds of planet has a great soundset with pads available, so there is more then enough choice to add pads like the omnisphere ones to the kronos.
You could also sample your favorite omnisphere pad and create a kronos Program from it, in one of my tutorials i've explained how to do this with one of the presets from omnisphere

Not trying to derail this thread, but Qui ... thank you so much for your unbiased contributions to this community. You are da bomb!
I personally own Omnisphere and use it all the time. I would like to try my hand at sampling some of my own personal Combinations in Omnisphere into my Kronos. And it looks like the "How To Guide" is right before me eyes!
OP: I am a member of a FB Group called Hillsong Omnisphere Sounds (HOS). A lot of members use Omnisphere and MainStage to cover all sorts of Praise & Worship shenanigans. It is a worthwhile investment. Probably the best VST I ever bought personally. If your budget is tight, by all means check into Qui and the other suggestions. If you can manager it, get Omnisphere. You won't regret it. I even went and got Trilian recently!

Qui, do i need omnisphere to do these sounds on my kronos? I would love to be able to sit down and learn all the sound manipulations but I have no time and not great at computers. I just want a bunch of sounds i can plug and play, which is why i'm hesitant to buy omnisphere. I'll have to buy a new laptop and software when honestly i wont make the time to learn it. You guys that create sounds i take my hat off to. I don't even know how to load new sounds into the Kronos, i figured if anyone had some sounds i could buy that i thought was worth the money i would learn then. Your sounds are the closest that i'm looking for. Again, not sure if i have to have omnisphere to do this.

well the video i posted earlier was an example of how to make a sample of omnisphere and transfer that to a kronos. It was more a tutorial then a real effort to create a sound. So if you refer to that specific sound, then yes you need omnisphere to get that sound.fabeandles wrote:Qui, do i need omnisphere to do these sounds on my kronos?
But the kronos can do a lot more. If you never load sound sets before i would suggest to go to my webpage by clicking on the banner in my reply and then go to the free kronos sounds section, there you will find several soundsets that you can download for free and you can 'practice' sound set loading and you will get some nice sounds in your kronos.
For instance these are two of the free sound sets you can download: (and there are many more free sets there)
Sounds for the MS-20 engine in the kronos:
<iframe width="300" height="169" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/6S87uRcUBAM" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Free Choir combi:
<iframe width="300" height="169" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/CNQ_TtJisQ8" frameborder="0"></iframe>
When you got enough experience you can always look in the premium section of my website, there you can find a couple of sound sets that aren't free but they are not that expensive.
For Pads i would suggest the magical space sound set or the magical suite action pack
Here's a demo of the magical space sound set (check for instance the pad sound at 2:00 minutes)
<iframe width="300" height="169" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/yveHzuhHQIo" frameborder="0"></iframe>
as a bonus for the people that bought the magical space soundset i created a free 32 combi soundset that uses those sounds, so you can download that also and it shows what you can do with those sounds live in the following video
<iframe width="300" height="169" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/5t8IyAPHWyQ" frameborder="0"></iframe>
For all the sounds you hear in the videos above (the free and premium ones) you don't need omnisphere, this is all done with the sound engines of the kronos itself.
if you want to see more videos of sounds from me, there are over 50 demos / tutorials on my youtube channel.
Hope this helps you a little bit.

Just out of curiosity, have you considered adding an iPad to your rig?
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

The reason I ask this is because there are a lot of really good synthes out there on the iPad and a lot of them have very good pad sounds. The Waldorf Nave especially comes to mind. I really like a pad sound called Heaven. It has just such a beautiful overall tone that I keep coming back to it.
Plus, the iOS based synthes aren't expensive.

yes you can use an iPad with the kronos, it's really easy, just buy a camera connection kit for the iPad, then connect a usb cable between the kronos and the iPad and midi AND AUDIO from the ipad are sent over usb through your kronos. It's really easy to setup and to use.fabeandles wrote:I didn't know you can hook up an ipad and use as midi..? Is that what you meant? This is absolutely right! I do it a lot of the time. I have quite a few fantastic synthesizers on my iPad and just love using them my hardware keyboards. By blending a few different synths together complete with their own effects you can get truly amazing sounds. I highly recommend it. I use an iPad 4th generation. I do recommend goetting a fairly new one if that's what you decide to do. The camera kit is just an adapter cable basically. You can get them at any Apple store or most computer stores.QuiRobinez wrote:yes you can use an iPad with the kronos, it's really easy, just buy a camera connection kit for the iPad, then connect a usb cable between the kronos and the iPad and midi AND AUDIO from the ipad are sent over usb through your kronos. This is the short list but I use the waldorf Nave, tachyon, morphwiz, Z3Ta+, space wiz. I like them all. They all have their own characteristics. If you are looking for standard sounds they won't help you much but if you want new interesting sounds check any of them out.
