Heard samples of Omnisphere software, please read....

I don't have Animoog, but I only hear great things about it.

I guess my point here is that you don't necessarily need a laptop to augment your keyboard rig. The only thikg with the iPad is, as far as I know, you can only access one synth at a time. I think with a laptop you can access several.

Before buying the Kronos two years ago I was using a laptop running Omnisphere, Komplete 7 and VB-3. I haven't spent much time with any of the soft synth stuff since. A few sounds I absolutely needed from Omnisphere were sampled into the Kronos and I never missed a beat.

After reading this thread I got interested in firing up the soft synths again and have already sampled a couple of new sounds from Omnisphere. This got me thinking about the possibility of perhaps using the laptop again in conjunction with the Kronos.

It would only need one USB cable between the two. That would handle both MIDI and audio. I can't believe the Kronos now allows for such a simple setup. My previous setup required MIDI to USB cable/converter. The Kore 2 controller for second MIDI and sound card. MIDI cables from two keyboards, audio cords from Korg Triton and from Kore controller. Small mixer...you get the idea.

So I can add a laptop with one cable...wow! The whole idea in going with the Kronos was to simplify the setup and that is still important. Still...the possibilities.....

yes, it's easy, and don't forget to program the external control pages, then with just one button press all the kronos faders and knobs are used to control the VST you have active on that midi channel. You can create a midi CC template for that in omnisphere. Within 10 minutes you have a lot of control of omnisphere with the knobs and faders of the kronos.

Then go the next step and include the OmniApp on the iPad as a touchscreen for the live control setting and you have the perfect integration of the kronos and omnisphere (or any other VST if you use Lemur on the iPad).

Check this example which i played live in omnisphere live mode and the kronos, you can easely do this with a connected laptop. In this example i use a 24 inch touchscreen, but the functionality with the iPad is exactly the same (you can see the iPad at the right of the screen.
The possibilities are endless

Ok, will the new IPad air 2 do this, couldn't tell if it had the usb connector...?
