Yes they are different beasts and I hope Korg addresses these issues with firmware updates. I am happy with the design of them and I am sure they will be fun. Micro timing and turning quantinazation off would really bring them to a whole nother level. Happy about them adding different track lengths now just imagine what could be done by being able to slide notes and have fill ins that are not quantized. If they do these things it truly will be the king of grooveboxes. Too bad they listened to all the kids in the school of no midi thru...

The quantization off quandry then... If they don't provide it, perhaps the old note shift function then. I never really used to use it on my esx but well, just a thought. Ok you'd have to program it manually but at least it would be some compromise. I do like the idea of a non quantized over dub though, give us some expression.

I agree with Glitchcraft regarding the 4 bar limit. The way I work with sampling one unit into the other through a couple of Kaoss Pads, this new restriction won't really fit the process. I hope Korg implement 4 extra bars in an update.

It's not that big issue I think. At least just recently I have gathered bunch of MIDI gear and struggling with daisy chaining on MIDI cables can be pain in the ass. So I'm definitely going to build MIDI-thru box (easy and cheap as hell) which leads me into the point that I don't need any THRU ports anymore. Although, I understand you.

Can't agree enough with this. For me 8 bars has always been the length of the patterns no matter have I been sequencing with EMX/ESX or with my computer.

cheers, Johnny

Andertons music here are saying January 2nd for now.... http://www.andertons.co.uk/sound-module ... tation.asp

Think i'll just relax, wait & see when these things actually arrive. You'd think that December would be a good target for sales really but when i was waiting for the MS20M it took an age. No point in getting hung up on dates me thinks !

Depends where you look. Gear4music have quite specific dates of 9th Dec for Music Production and 6th Jan for the Sampler.

The manual on korg.co.jp is the same as we already know (beside of the japanese text part). No parameter guide :-( Maybe the parameter guide will be released saturday?

Anyone heard any clues as to part editing ? Just wondering which parameters we get over drum one shots.
My fave knob on the esx was the start point, great for quick trimming of kicks but also for tons of other stuff. That one little parameter made the esx for me. I could keep a bank of 4 kicks in there all the time & always was able to make them sound different every time, something the emx never had.

Lots of questions about Electribe2's sound dropping out when switching patterns. If the fx change too much from one pattern to the next you get dropout. When the final product ships it will be up to the player to programme it in a way that produces a smooth flow. This new instrument won't be easy and the people that adopt it early and learn it will have a good chance of forging their own unique sound and playing style with it.
I'm typing this from a million-man march on parliament square btw.

I think there is the edit knob which changes pre-set values. In Mistabishi's presentation, it added distortion to a kick. I am afraid there won't be such a thing as "start/end/lenth" on the electribe.

So changing from 1 4bar pattern to another, providing the same insert FX are the same (possibly will be for he most part) then we'll be okay? But dramatic changes in FX could prove gappy.

Doesn't sound too devastating. Manageable.

Going by your name and this part of your text- you may like the Bastl Instruments- have you seen them?
