free Triton sounds aren't different

Post by Salzbunny »

Maybe I'm missing something, but just about every single sound I audition from the free Triton banks sound exactly the same as the sounds already on the Kross. Yes there are a few in EP that are different. But every single synth lead and synth pad seems to just be a duplicate of the ones on the Kross. Maybe they didn't change those between the X50 and the Kross? I'm having a hard time finding good complex and tasteful pads that aren't typical cheesy-sounding. Any tips? Is there a specific folder out of the 4 bonus Triton folders I should be looking in?

The Triton/X50 pads do sound thicker. The Combi on the Kross entitled Glisten Pad is wonderful - it seems Kross gains its complexity more with the arpeggiator doing subtle things in Combis, rather than creamy waves of pads. The clarity of the sound is wonderful, transparent almost, nice attacks, but yeah, I know what you mean.

As far as the NEW banks, only the User Banks are different, as far as I've been able to understand it, but I may be wrong. It has been discussed in another thread on this forum, so hopefully there's a better answer out there than mine ;)
