Worst thing about the PA3X is...
Travelling.
Almost impossible to find for rent from music stores. They VERY RARELY offer it.
Too big and heavy with a flight case. (At least the 76 key model). Latest fee I'm being quoted to fly from Canada to Europe and back is 1400$ on top of my normal ticket and baggage price.
When your whole repertoire is made using it, you can't really use another keyboard.
I'm waiting to see what we will get with the PA4X. Crossing my fingers for a much lighter weight and why not... even a module version like the Ketron Audya.

If PA4x goes lighter, that means more plastic and less durable material have been used. Not exactly what you're looking for when you know how they toss stuff around at the airport. I've seen it with my own eyes and it's horrifying indeed! The best alternative would've been a module. Too bad they don't offer it anymore.
...buggy style record mode...Not working stable...
...80% bad,old and devastated factory rom samples,useless...God bless ram memory
...heavy keys are bad for playing faster melodies with thrills
... very slow writing\ erasing time sliced samples
...low quality overdrive\distortion effects
This several things comes to mind on first thought...
...but so far, the best Korg's arranger... Looking forward next year for REVOLUTION in this area, not small evolution

I have to confess, yes, Korg seem in a holding pattern and it's time to meld the Kronos system with an arranger engine.
Streaming samples is the way of the future, and direct access to data is getting to be the norm on arrangers. Having to first load stuff up, THEN use it just seems so 20th century! Whether samples, styles, SMF's, anything you need, if it's on an attached drive, the arranger should be able to play it directly.
GB sized sounds (imagine drum kits the quality of BFD in styles!) are the new norm for music production and performance. Korg already HAVE this technology. Time to port it to the arranger division...

Don't think that will ever happen unless Korg US and Korg Italy and Korg Japan integrate!!!Kronos system with an arranger engine
Would be interesting if it did, but it will destroy Korg's business future.
"One keyboard" - "all things to all men/women" - I don't think so….
Asena seems to have the answers already - so……. info or just another rumour??

I agree. Different people want or need different things. Not everyone needs piano feel or studio connectivity. For some the need for attached speakers; for others a fashionable appearance suitable for the "living" room. On and on. ; )karmathanever wrote:Don't think that will ever happen unless Korg US and Korg Italy and Korg Japan integrate!!!Kronos system with an arranger engine

I don't see any disconnect between Korg's arranger division and Korg's synth division. After all, the PA3X is based somewhat loosely on the Triton engine with regards to its synth and sampler capabilities. Small differences, but there's no way that Korg Italy designed the sound engine. They simply tack on the arranger section to an already developed engine.
So I see no problem tacking the same arranger engine (hopefully with more bells and whistles!) to the basic Kronos engine. OK, OK, you might not get ALL of the Kronos's different synthesis engines, but I would expect you'd at least get the streaming sampler, the basic VA synth and the B3 engines. Even those would be a massive improvement on the aging Triton engine we have now.
TBH, there isn't really that much competition between the two divisions. Arranger users tend to be, on the whole, people looking to get AWAY from WS complexity, and WS users tend to poo-poo the arrangers. It is unlikely that sales of Kronos engined arrangers would significantly scavenge sales of the Kronos itself. When the PA2X and the Triton were out at about the same time (the M3 wasn't that much of a step away from the basic Triton capability), you really didn't see Korg worried that PA2X sales would hurt Triton sales (or M3 sales).
I rather think you have entirely invented that objection to Korg allowing a modern generation engine in a modern arranger. The Kronos just recently got an upgrade, if not a new model name, so I imagine that the OLD Kronos engine is fair game for the arranger division to use!
Wouldn't THAT be a sight to see?

So, a WS with arranger features?
Or an Arranger with WS features?
Or an arranger-WS with all features?
Imagine the complaints about all the "missing" functions we would get then!!!!
But I agree - it would be a sight to see.
