Worst thing about the PA3X is...

You might want to think twice about saying stuff like this with no concrete timeline for it. I would think, having heard this, that anyone thinking seriously about jumping up to the PA3Xpro is going to seriously reconsider that decision, which won't help Korg in the slightest!Asena wrote:Well, Let me say. KORG IS COMING WHIT something that is the ULTIMATE this time! Trust me
But if it's maybe a year or two away, they are going to get a bit mad about you spilling the beans so prematurely, and bump up the angst about the waiting time for this promised thing. Plus, of course, unless it truly IS a quantum leap forward (we haven't seen one of those from Korg in quite a while in the arranger segment, just baby steps), you are going to see as lot of people mad they delayed their decision for whatever disappoints them!
The trouble is, EVERY latest Korg is, by definition, the 'Ultimate' arranger, no matter how big or small the change!
All aboard the Hype Train...

Hi Dikikeys
I'm afraid this happens every time we are getting closer to a potential new model.
Next we'll see the stupid Photoshopped images of a PA4X with built-in coffee cup holders, cigarette lighters and whatever.
It's fine if it is that ridiculous because it is then an obvious joke.
Does anyone actually even know if it is going to be called "PA4X"?
However I agree that half-baked unjustified, unofficial announcements are unfair and merely confuse anyone thinking of getting Korg arrangers.
So, Asena, please prove us wrong here and give us official information otherwise please say nothing because such statements are unfair.
Cheers
Pete

I am never sure that those of us that want TOTAL Kronos functionality combined with advanced arranger capability too ever really think what that will cost...
A KronosX 73 is $3700 street, before a single arranger feature is added.
I imagine that full integration of the two would push the price right into bloated Tyros5 country, and how many of us calling for the keyboard would be willing to pay that much for it?
Not to mention, the UI really needs a massive redesign... yes the Kronos Performance page selectors are big enough for rapid use without error, but having played a Kronos, I found that the amount of stuff crammed into each regular screen made for quite tricky accurate selection of things like Tones, splits, effects etc..
As usual, WS's seem primarily designed for the studio, where you have time to be precise, but arrangers are designed for live play, and need pages laid out for ease of use, not massive choice. I can't see that amount of work for the redesign being cheap!
So sure, if you can afford $5000+ for the world's most capable WS/Arranger hybrid (and it seems the T5 is selling OK) keep calling for it... But those of us on a beer, not a champagne budget need to realize what we are actually asking for!

For the same reasons I own a PA900.DjStiky wrote:Travelling.
Almost impossible to find for rent from music stores. They VERY RARELY offer it.
Too big and heavy with a flight case. (At least the 76 key model). Latest fee I'm being quoted to fly from Canada to Europe and back is 1400$ on top of my normal ticket and baggage price.
When your whole repertoire is made using it, you can't really use another keyboard.
I'm waiting to see what we will get with the PA4X. Crossing my fingers for a much lighter weight and why not... even a module version like the Ketron Audya.
