Electribe Release Date Bet

I phoned up the shop I pre-ordered from and got a refund. I will not mention their name as their customer service was excellent and not their fault.
I just want one before Christmas otherwise I'll be getting a PS4 on Christmas eve.
I'd have been better off if Korg hadn't advertised it like they did and saw one bleeping and flashing away in a music shop one day rather than seeing some talentless Japanese kids having one and murdering it on you tube.
What a joke.

True that. Like Korg doesn't have the resources to loan a few units to actual well-known, touring, electronic musicians. The patterns themselves would increase sales enough to pay for the campaign.markxl1 wrote:seeing some talentless Japanese kids having one and murdering it on you tube.

Well Buska is not kidding...Australia is actually getting theirs next.
What illogical move. I mean why not do a global release instead of going country by country.
I talked with my supplier and the units for the US release is still slated either for the 2nd or 3rd week of December. Korg will not commit to a date and my supplier knows about the Australia release...it makes no sense to them as well.
We all get the early release in Japan concept since Korg is in Japan. But this non-global release strategy boggles the mind, not just mine but the supplier who hopes to get one out to my as early as next week.

Couldn't it just be a geography/shipping matter? A batch is 'released' at the same time, but where you live in the world determines when it reaches your specific country? I know Korg are a Japanese company, but where are the units manufactured and are they shipped from that country or do they then return to Korg HQ prior to them being shipped to distributors/retailers? You can add the vagaries of individual country's customs and excise to the equation as well, especially in Europe where I expect they are constantly being moved from one country to another, regardless of their ultimate destination.SMK wrote:Well Buska is not kidding...Australia is actually getting theirs next.

Even if Korg were Santa Claus, they cannot deliver to multiple locations and have everything arrive at exactly the same time. Not every country has ordered the same amount and not every country is receiving their first batch using the same delivery method. Each bulk shipping size could be different as well. The only way a "Global Release" would be possible is if Korg forced each retail shop to wait a specific day so that so that every country had their first shipment to release at once. The wait in most countries would be even longer.

I believe the products are shipped from their country of production, most likely China in the case of the electribe, considering the price point.Griz wrote:I know Korg are a Japanese company, but where are the units manufactured and are they shipped from that country or do they then return to Korg HQ prior to them being shipped to distributors/retailers? When it comes to logistics performance, may I suggest this report :

That should keep you busy until the electribe arrives.

My supplier says he's just spoken to Korg UK and they're expecting delivery "the week of the 8th of December" so in plenty of time to be wrapped in festive paper and sit under a conifer in the corner of our living room screaming "OPEN ME! OPEN ME!" For about 10 days before I get to play

Yeah, ditto to all that. My analog set up is a total nightmare for live use and this one little box (along with my R3) should be able to replace virtually everything for gigs. I've been using a microSTATION for the past few years, but I'm really not happy with the sound of it. Programming on it is also super frustrating, even for the simplest of things. I also have an MC-505 which is great, but needs repair work and is way too fragile.SMK wrote:Alright, done with the last show of the year...and the last show with crap load of gear.
