Yeah, I noticed this right away. Faster boot. My times are about the same as yours.

Hip, hip, hooray!

Loving the vintage effect "Small(stone phaser)", instant Jean Michel Jarrr on the saw'y pads.

Seems to be running hotter...

Kind Regards,

Try checking the fan speed, I just read that there is an option for that now with the upgrade.

Thanks Korg - Redrawing issues?

Post by rbrucemtl »

First I want to say thanks for the update it lot of new things to play with... I'm fairly new to the Kronos so I'm not 100% sure if this is a new issue but automating the pan controls in Sequence mode seems to have redrawing issues when playing back... anyone else notice this yet? Just record something and tweak the pan controls and then play it back and watch.

Thanks,

It's in Auto.
I'm guessing some things are taking a little more CPU.

How DOES one recover from this problem?
black953mj wrote:Boom... System update fail... I now have a all grey screen and non responsive keyboard. Buttons don't work, keys don't work, nothing. Followed the instructions to the letter (and have done this before without issue). Just fair warning to people tempted to do this who have a gig this weekend (I don't, thankfully) that you absolutely should wait until you have some time just in case you have to restore!

I'm sure it's an isolated incident but just a reminder that updates do occasionally go haywire! :D [/img]

In which case one wonders why it's necessary to have the option in the first place?

In the new manual, it says that if the temperature of the Kronos gets too hot, the fan will automatically kick into high, no matter what you choose. So, yes, safe to have on low all the time.

First of all I would like to thank you Korg for this update ! Nice job ! :D
In a second step I have a question for you folks:
In OS 3.0 is anybody started to modify his own 2.x combis using 2.x factory programs ?
Is there a script or something to do that automatically already announced ?
I guess I saw Dan talking about that in a previous thread ?

I don't have a lot of them but it could be painful to do this manually and this will imply a very strong file organisation !

Am I missing something ?

Thanks.

Cheers :D

If the fan will go into high automatically, then I don't see the point of having an OPTION to set it to low. It should just always be low except when it has to go high!

The OS download is moving slow - estimating 45 minutes for the 190MB file. I didn't know there were so many Kronos owners....

I noticed there is no voice name list among the manuals. I am wondering whether that means those extra voices in the new Kronos are not included in the 3.0.2 update or if the 3.0.2 update installs them automatically. Either way, I'll make sure I have a current backup.
From the announcement email quoted at the top of the thread:

* * *
Note: KRONOS System Version 3.0.2 provides nearly all of the features of the new KRONOS, except for the updated sounds and sample libraries. These updated sounds and libraries, including the EXs17 Berlin D Piano, EXs18 Korg EXs Collections, and new Programs and Combinations, are expected to be made available for owners of previous KRONOS models in late January 2015 (price TBD).
