I am attempting to add an audio automation event into an audio guitar track.
At different times in the song I want to send more or less signal to SEND 2 (which I'm using for a delay). I have tried to add the events in two ways: (1) "Inserting" the change into the track by going through the TRACK EDIT / Audio Automation Edit, and typing it in. And, (2) by turning the FX2 knob while in record/overdub/automation only mode.
The end result is that the SEND 2 knob, visible on the Control Surface screen, does not turn up or down - is not recording or playing back my changes.
Any insight and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

On the Play/Rec Preferences screen, do you have the Automation Only checkbox ticked? And do you have the Link KBD REC Trk to Ctrl Surface checkbox ticked and Mixer Knob set to Channel Strip on the Control Surface screen when recording?
Note: There is a set of instructions for real time recording of audio automation events in the Operation Guide on page 106 under the heading Recording automation events for pan, EQ, and volume etc. on an audio track. Have a look at that page and see if you've missed any steps in the process.
As for manually inserting events, I guess ensure you have the correct audio track selected (same goes for recording in real time). Don't know if the Automation Only checkbox needs to be ticked or not when on this screen.
