V3 - Fan speed and temperature

Sorry I'm not 100% sure, but I would strongly assume it should be blowing towards the PSU and Motherboard. I can't imagine it being much use in reverse.

That's what I thought as well, but in a more or less closed box I'm not certain. Does anyone remember for sure?
The Cooltek has very interesting specs compared to other fans:
15,1 CFM (slightly more than the original factory fan)
2000 rpm
13,2 dB(A)

At least in the original KRONOS, the fan blows in the other direction, pushing air across the SSD, and pulling air across and away from the PSU and motherboard. (If it was blowing air towards the PSU and motherboard, air heated by the PSU would be pushed across the motherboard, increasing its temperature even more.)Sharp wrote:Sorry I'm not 100% sure, but I would strongly assume it should be blowing towards the PSU and Motherboard. As has been noted here, SSDs don't need cooling, and the SSD bracket is just a convenient place to mount the fan to pull air across the PSU and motherboard. The SSD does block fan airflow a bit, though, and adding a second SSD blocks it even more, which may explain why KRONOS with 2 SSDs seem to run at a higher temperature.

With fast fan I get 63-66, with slow I'm not sure. Originally I thought it was only a bit worse but then I noticed it was up in the high 70s so I put it back to fast.PCFREE wrote:Interesting!! I have twoBobTheDog wrote:I'm also wondering if people with the higher readings have two SSDs installed,
I have two and my temps with the fan on auto(noisy) mode are higher than those who have the fan turned to low/off.
What readings are you getting?
It would be interesting to hear more experiences
I keep the room cool as well, probably 15C.
From what I can remember,I thought that the fan moved air across the psu/motherboard toward the right hand end of the keyboard(normal playing postition etc).
Also, the purpose of the fan is to provide air movement, avoiding hot spots, rather than constant cooling.
There are no vents in the case, only natural gaps between buttons/sliders etc.
According to the manual, even set at a low speed setting, the fan will increase speed appropriately if the temperture goes above a certain level.
Nothing much to worry about,then.....??
Just for the record,my average temp is around 51 with an auto fan speed setting.
(Lucky to have a quiet one, though).
Best Wishes.

2 SSD's. 88 Keys.PCFREE wrote:Perhaps it would be useful if everyone who posts their temperature states whether they have one or two ssd's and which fan they're using
Constantly runs between 69-72 Celsius. 24h a day, 7 days a weak, 52 weeks per year, ever since late 2011.
No sweat, no reboots, ocasionally good to grill over the PSU area.
Kind Regards,

Yes, it seems that you are right:dfahrner wrote:At least in the original KRONOS, the fan blows in the other direction, pushing air across the SSD, and pulling air across and away from the PSU and motherboard. Looked at the fan thread pictures again, and the side with the printed fan info (that's the air direction side) points away from the motherboard. Glad I checked this once more before replacing the fan again.

Temperature of room 24C, temperature of processor started from 37C (fan settings to auto mode). After 2h. of playing with various programs and combies, temperature of processor rise to 53C-57C. I noticed that slow mode of fan rise temperature 3C-4C and in this situation fan is really unnoticeable. I don't have second SSD.
