I find the meters extremely useful. One of the most relevant innovations of 3.02 for me.

I agree. If they are in fact level meters, then they are very useful in balancing track outputs, especially in sequencer mode. It would be nice if they had yellow and red segments like most level meters have, but they are still a great function/tool added to this workstation.

When recording songs on the Kronos that have audio as well as midi, I've always before just gotten by with my ears. I like having the meters but for me, the ears rule first.

I like them because they quickly show me which channels are playing. I use a controller with the K61 and do a lot of splits and layers.

I can play a chord and see which Timbers are being played and that is a time saver. Before, I had to mute channels or go into the MIDI channel page etc.

If it reduces Polyphony as I've heard, I can see using it while programming and turning it off for the performance. Thumbs up \:D/

Is it reducing the voice number because of cpu usage?

That's the only reason I can think of. I wonder if this holds for all modes though - e.g. if you're in Setlist Mode and no meters are showing, are they still being calculated?

Good question. I would tend to think they are but I'll have to test it out to be sure. One thing that I am wondering now is if I have a very note dense seq will I now notice voice steeling when before I didnt? Hmmmm. Another thing to check out.maybe in a few days I will have time. Getting the home all decorated for Christmas.

This means the wife works and I drink!

Glad to know somebody else is on decorating duties. I have to do the bedroom before I get to play with my musical toys again. ;)
