Hm, there are proper songs out there done only with am EMX. I think that the electribe 2 is also very versatile!

I wish you luck with it, imo the emx1 was a better user interface.

Well, I never used the electribe 2, but there are a lot of things (chords, better pcm samples, no more fixed drum/synth parts) telling me that the electribe 2 delivers more options than the EMX.

Like i said, i wish you luck. I've said this once on one of these recent threads, if i were handed an electribe2 & an emx1 & told i could only choose 1, i would take the emx1 because it's more fun.

Well, Doc, what you said about live use, jamming, backing tracks....all very encouraging (for me, at least), because this is how I intend to use it. One project that I'm in involves vocals, synth, and guitar - all improvised and done on the spot....but lately we've been wanting to have some type of "framework"of a song, and I think this will work very nicely for that, plus the added functionality of drums means I don't have to bring drummachines with me any more (at least I hope - but so far everyone has said the drums are excellent on this).

And like I said, I've owned an EMX or ESX so I can only compare this to the older tribes. Although, I must say, after all of this discussion....I'm interested in getting an ESX....maybe....I'd like to wait until we get some intel on the new sampler coming out in a few months.

I believe it would be a very good instrument for that live stuff, jast as a synth even. It could deffo give you that framework, 16 sequencers all in one pattern. As for the esx1, i'd take one of those before either the electribe2 or the emx1. Again, it has the better user interface imo, more immediate for live edits & better for longer, more complex evolutions over 8 bars. Plus smoother pattern changing & song mode.
I can't argue with the sound quality of the new tribe & yes, the drums are very good, i genuinely mean that, very respectable & useable especially as they are editable. I'm just comparing the hands-on interface & i preferred the emx1/esx1 layout & options.

According to Guitar center, they're now available in Cali, Oregon, and Dallas, TX! Oh man - cant wait for them to hit the eastern seaboard!
Yeah, looks like units are trickling in to stores out west, and are shipping from the stores (and not a warehouse). Soon, midwest and east/northeast? These might even be single units per store and not proper shipments.

The only question is: Since GC is still calling it a preorder, are these units open-box or b-stock demos? Or just a small advance wave of factory-sealed units? I'll find out on Monday when mine arrives.

Weird for an item still in preorder status to be showing up in stores.

In France, the new Tribe was available few days ago. In Germany, the first ones will go out the coming days. I think the first shipment/charge is completely preordered and/or sold out. Maybe February means the next shipments from Korg.

Yep I had the same form dolphin music, dude was saying under his breath "Is this guy in first 5?" then came back to me with "yes looks like you get one from the first batch so some time this week".
Did the guy certainly say there were 5 in the first batch? I asked about it earlier in the month and was told my Electribe was number 10 out of 12 arriving in the first shipment :(

I was just left a voicemail saying that the Electribes are coming in and will be mailed out in "a couple of days". The store is in the U.S. midwest. Even though my expectations have been tempered, to say the least, I am looking forward to joining the tribe tribe maybe by next week.
