Now online.
No "ESX2" though. They'll probably have it in NAMM in January.
The guy in the video said he expected it shipping in February.

So they'll probably demo the sampler in NAMM in January. February sounds optimistic for the sampler release, but lets hope so.

he said the 1.03 firmware would solve completely the gap problem :)
and he said that you have to buy an midi adapter cable to connect your midi stuff (he should know that the adapters are shipped with the units as an official korg promoter)

So I've had the esx 2 in my grubby little hands for about an hour now and there is plenty of fun stuff you can do with it. Sounds very smooth punchy and essentially noiseless out of the box. The drum samples are well selected and beefy and the synth tones are good especially when the filters are applied. All in all great fun so far.

In my opinion anyone who thinks its a presets machine only isnt being very imaginative. Sounds very good out of the box and ive just spent the last hour layering a single bell sample tone with synthesised & filtered white noise for good moody wierd ambient/drone fun.

Very much looking forward to seeing what the sampler version can achieve.

Agreed, it's not very imaginative to just use presets on any synth although there are some good ones to be had but with 16 parts there's deffo room for tons of experimental stuff, that's what i think i'm going to use it for, droney loopy soundscape stuff. I originally wanted a dubby tune box but with the 4 bar limit i'm having to evolve to different ideas from it. It's deffo got something of its own flavour to behold.

Hey @Drhoo ,I know Luke"from korg" didn't seem to have as good a grasp as he should, like he hadn't had it long(didn't really answer questions what people seemed to be asking-confusing swing for groove feat. etc).. But
Didn't he say version 1.8 was the newest update just out that solves gap issue? I only watched it once so I (or he) may be wrong.

I just got back from Guitar Center here in Denver, CO USA where I got to play with one for about 5 minutes. It is *really* heavy, built like a tank and not at all like it looks in video.

This one definitely did not have any upgraded firmware, as the "gap" was all over this thing. One thing I noticed.. If you slide your fingers across all the pads in "track mute" mode, just before the pattern changes, it is an effective way to bypass the gap problem.. It actually adds tension like when a DJ cuts the fader out momentarily.

Oh.. and the sound quality is amazing.

I will return tomorrow and pound out a video demo.

He never 1.8, when he answered the question he quickly said 1.03, which could have sounded like 1.8 with his accent but yeah it's still 1.03.

Is it possible to change the midi channels on the electribe. It doesn't look possible...
Or is there a way to record midi into the current track you are using (blue)
from another sequencer?

I think the midi channels are hard wired to each part ,1-16 and can not be changed. Just select the right channel in your DAW.

So the new firmware 1.03 addresses the 'gap' issue. I have read it makes things more managable but doesn't fix the issue completely. Is that the case? Is the gap issue a timing error or a drop in the internal sounds?
