Korg pa 900 mic

Post by nawed »

hi,
today i tried to connect my headset mic with the keyboard and i followed every step from the manual, but i didnt get audio signal. the audiosignal diode is off all the time atleast it should be orange as far i know.
is it possible that the keyboard doesnt support headsets microphones?

If you are certain the input knob on the back is turned up, the problem may be that the headset mic needs phantom power. The 900 does not have phantom power supply. I wish it did!

No problem, your English is fine. I'm glad you determined the problem.

Most gaming headsets are USB. So the Korg cannot input those at all.

TBH, I'm not a big fan of headset mikes. They do not allow you to 'work' the microphone (get closer and sing quieter or further back and sing loudly) which is a standard mike technique, nor do they easily allow you to get off them to cough, or speak asides...

Many swear by them, but I can't say I'm a fan. :?

KORG support headphone and mic by separate connection.
only headphone with mic which has separate jacks will be working.

well,.. not all headset has separate jacks, but this is not an issue here.
Did you check on something else with mic input?, I know for fact someone using PC headphone as mic recording, so must be something wrong with yours set.
Is always good exclude possibility of malfunctions.
In your case you need extra device with mic input and extra mic.
Then you know for sure where is a problem.
BTW ... gaming headset is nothing different that headphone with mic, is nothing special about, even using them in games you got separate setting for Mic input and headphone output.
Is like tuners, Guitar tuner can be also use to violin, but is more tricky, guitar has empty string different order that violin, but if someone knows both have no problem with tuning.
Only USB headset required PC driver in order to work.
Also korg is not specify exactly what have to be mic, so any dynamic mic should work.

One other thought, be sure the plug is fully inserted in the mic input. A time or two I thought mine wasn't working, but I found this to be the problem. Push it in firmly.
