Saving Syx file with Kronos

I'm trying to save my work on the kronos and my work in Ableton as one sysex file. I went to disk mode> save> save exclusive. It then says "awaiting midi data" ..this is where I am stuck. How do I save with Ableton and all of my midi devices connected?

I think that feature only can be used from sysex data received by the MIDI in port (so exclusive data from other synths), not from the Kronos itself.
